In connection with World Soil Day on December 5, a tree-planting action was held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, students and teachers of the Art Gymnasium within the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, members of the Humanist Pedagogical Center, Young Climate Ambassadors and eco-volunteers.
650 Eldar pines and olive trees suitable for soil and climate conditions of Absheron peninsula were planted in 1 hectare area of Mushfigabad settlement.
It should be noted that the area is equipped with a drip irrigation system, and technical water obtained from the treatment of waste water formed in the settlement is used to irrigate the greenery.
It should be noted that the World Soil Day was announced by the UN on December 5, 2014. This year, World Soil Day is celebrated under the motto "Soil and water are the source of life". Sustainable development depends on the precious relationship between land and water.
